General English for Teenagers

Why Do Teenagers Want to Learn English?

In today’s interconnected world, knowing English is a crucial skill for teenagers. Unlike adults, teenagers have the advantage of being more adaptable to new languages and are able to absorb information more naturally. At a younger age, the brain is more receptive to learning new sounds, grammar structures, and vocabulary, making it easier for teenagers to achieve fluency faster compared to adult learners.

Learning English at an early stage helps teenagers develop essential communication skills, build confidence in both academic and social environments, and prepare for future career opportunities. Additionally, it allows them to engage more comfortably with the digital world, access a broader range of educational resources, and interact with global cultures.

General English Courses for Teenagers

Our English courses are specifically designed for teenagers aged 12 to 15 and cover levels from beginner to intermediate. These courses focus on developing essential language skills, helping students become more comfortable using English in everyday situations.

Each level, from A1 (Beginner) to B1 (Intermediate), consists of 3 terms, ensuring a gradual and solid progression. Through engaging lessons and interactive activities, teenagers will not only improve their grammar and vocabulary but also develop their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Course Materials and Teaching Approach

Our courses for teenagers use the Project book series, which is specifically designed to match the mindset and interests of teenagers. Unlike younger children or adults, teenagers have unique ways of engaging with language learning, and the Project series taps into these differences. The books are project-based, meaning they encourage greater interaction and communication among students, allowing them to collaborate and practise their speaking skills more effectively.

Our teachers are specially trained to work with teenagers and to use teaching methods that cater to their needs and interests. The course structure follows these levels:

  • A1 (Beginner): Project 1 is used to build a solid foundation for beginners.
  • A1-A2 (Pre-elementary): At this level, we use Project 2 to expand students’ basic skills and vocabulary.
  • A2 (Elementary): Project 3 helps students develop more confidence in their language use, focusing on real-world applications of English.
  • A2-B1 (Pre-intermediate): At this level, Project 4 prepares students for more advanced interactions, bridging the gap between elementary and intermediate skills.
  • B1 (Intermediate): Finally, Project 5 is used to solidify students’ ability to use English in a variety of contexts, preparing them for more complex language tasks.

After completing this series, students transition to our adult courses and begin using the Evolve book series to continue their language journey.

Flexible Patterns for Busy Students

One important issue to consider for teenagers is that they attend school, and exam periods can often be a stressful time for both them and their families. This may lead to disruptions in their usual routines, including their English classes. To accommodate this issue, we offer a variety of course patters that suit different schedules and preferences.

  • Intensive Classes: Our intensive classes are particularly popular during the summer holidays. These classes run three days a week, with two 1.5-hour sessions per day, allowing students to make significant progress in a short amount of time.
  • Regular Classes: During the school year, most students opt for our regular term courses, which are held three days a week with one 1.5-hour session per day.
  • Two-day Regular Classes: For those who prefer fewer but longer sessions, we also offer two-day regular classes, held on Sundays and Tuesdays, with two 90-minute sessions each day.
  • Weekend Classes: For students who want to make the most of their weekends, we offer weekend classes, held either on Thursdays or Fridays, with three 90-minute sessions in a single day. This option is perfect for those looking to engage in something productive over the weekend.

With this level of flexibility, even teenagers don’t have to worry about the stress of balancing their English classes with school and other commitments. They can easily choose a class that fits perfectly with their lifestyle, ensuring that learning English remains enjoyable and stress-free.
