If you prefer written tests and are interested in participating in French classes, whether online or in-person, consider taking the French Placement Test Online (FREPTO). This test is specifically designed to evaluate your written French skills, essential for excelling in both academic and conversational contexts. By taking the FREPTO, you can accurately gauge your current level of French proficiency, ensuring you are placed in the right class that matches your needs. Whether you’re beginning your journey in French or looking to advance your skills, the FREPTO provides a clear starting point, helping tailor your learning experience to be as effective as possible. Rules and Requirements
To advance through the test, complete each section, ensuring you meet the required number of correct responses to proceed.
Should you encounter any issues with audio playback in the Listening section, simply click the “Refresh” button adjacent to the audio player and allow a few moments for the issue to resolve.
The test result is valid for 60 days, offering you the flexibility to reassess your language skills within this period. The test is designed to gauge your proficiency in key areas of English and/or French language including listening, reading, grammar, vocabulary, and functions, utilizing a multiple-choice format for clarity and precision.
Due to the inclusion of listening questions, the use of headphones is recommended during the test.
Please be aware that once taken, the result is final and non-refundable, and cannot be exchanged for another placement test. Additionally, it is crucial to avoid using the browser’s “Back” button during the test, as this will terminate the session immediately.
