Our esteemed Practical Translation programme is meticulously designed for individuals who are keen to refine their multilingual capabilities. Prospective students should possess a proficiency level of at least B2 to embark on this transformative journey. The comprehensive 12-term curriculum initiates with foundational concepts and methodically advances through to sophisticated translation techniques. As graduates of this prestigious course, you will be adept at navigating the complexities of translating various genres, including literary works and specialised texts, thereby significantly enhancing your professional standing in the translation industry.
From Basics to Mastery: Our Comprehensive Translation Levels
Our Practical Translation courses are meticulously designed across four comprehensive levels:
- Level 1 (TR1 to TR3): We begin our journey with an exploration of foundational Persian and world literature, examining the nuances of narrative and thematic elements through Golestan, edited by Houshang Golshiri, alongside the first volume of Darsnameye Tarjomeh. This stage sets the stage for a deep appreciation of literary beauty and translation challenges.
- Level 2 (TR3 to TR6): Advancing to the second volume of Darsnameye Tarjomeh, this level delves deeper into Persian and global literary landscapes. Along with specialised training in literary translation through Tarjome Motoon Adabi (Literary Translation) students will also explore classic works such as Hezar o Yek Shab (One Thousand and One Nights), gaining insights into translating complex narratives and cultural elements. These texts provide an excellent foundation for understanding how to convey literary style and emotion across languages, preparing students to handle more intricate translation tasks with precision and sensitivity.
- Level 3 (TR7 to TR9): This advanced stage introduces students to intricate aspects of literary analysis and translation with the third volume of Darsnameye Tarjomeh and Tarjome Motoon Adabi (Literary Translation). Additionally, Noktehaye Virayesh (Editing Tips) is a crucial part of this level, covering essential editing skills such as orthography, syntax, punctuation, and style—empowering students to refine their translations to professional standards.
- Level 4 (TR10 to TR12): The final stage of our course is the mastery of advanced literary translation. Students will engage with advanced texts using the fourth volume of Darsnameye Tarjomeh, which provides them with the tools to tackle complex literary works. In addition to translation, students will refine their editing skills through the study of Noktehaye Virayesh (Editing Tips). This book covers essential topics such as orthography, syntax, punctuation, and style, ensuring that graduates are equipped to deliver polished, professional translations. By mastering both translation and editing, students will be fully prepared to take on professional translation projects, including literary works and specialised texts.

Practical Translation Course Patterns
Our Practical Translation courses are offered with flexible scheduling options to accommodate the diverse needs of our students:
- Three Days a Week: Classes are held on Saturdays, Mondays, and Wednesdays, providing a consistent weekly rhythm that facilitates comprehensive learning and ample practice time.
- Two Days a Week: This option allows for a balanced approach, with classes taking place during the week, offering flexibility while maintaining enough contact hours for effective learning.
- One Day a Week: Specifically designed for those with tighter schedules, these classes are held exclusively on Thursdays or Fridays, focusing on intensive sessions that cover extensive material in a single day.
